At Wendell Property, we believe that strong communities are built by people who care enough to invest in the future. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to support the Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi Springboard Awards, helping exceptional emerging New Zealand artists take the next step in their careers.

This year, our Wendell Property Springboard Award was presented to Jaime Jenkins, a Tauranga Moana-based ceramic artist whose work is already making a significant impact across Aotearoa.

Celebrating emerging New Zealand talent

The Arts Foundation Springboard Awards recognise artists at a pivotal stage of their careers, providing both financial support and mentorship from some of New Zealand’s most respected creative leaders.

Each recipient receives a $15,000 award along with a year-long mentorship designed to help transform extraordinary talent into sustainable creative careers. Wendell Property is honoured to be one of the organisations making these opportunities possible.

Meet Jaime Jenkins

Jaime Jenkins creates remarkable hand-built ceramic sculptures that blur the line between traditional ceramics and contemporary sculpture.

Her work explores the relationship between architecture, landscape and the natural environment, resulting in intricate forms that are both delicate and powerful. Working from Tauranga Moana, Jaime has steadily built a national reputation through exhibitions, artist residencies and collaborations with some of New Zealand’s leading contemporary artists.

Her work is already held in the collection of Te Papa Tongarewa – Museum of New Zealand, and she has exhibited at venues including the Aotearoa Art Fair, Pah Homestead, Te Uru and Toi Tauranga Art Gallery. (

More than an award

One of the unique aspects of the Springboard programme is mentorship.

Jaime has been paired with celebrated New Zealand sculptor Kate Newby, allowing her to learn directly from one of Aotearoa’s leading contemporary artists as she continues to develop her practice.

For Wendell Property, this reflects something we value deeply in business as well—creating opportunities, sharing knowledge and helping talented people realise their potential.

Why Wendell Property supports the arts

While we’re best known for professional property management across Auckland, our business has always been about people first.

Supporting the Arts Foundation aligns with our belief that thriving communities need more than great homes—they also need creativity, culture and opportunities for emerging talent to flourish.

We’re incredibly proud that the Wendell Property Springboard Award is helping artists like Jaime Jenkins build sustainable careers while enriching New Zealand’s creative landscape.

Congratulations, Jaime. We can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next.
